Oloïd

Agitate Aerate Circulate

Applications

EMPLOYMENT OF THE OLOID TECHNOLOGY FOR THE TREATMENT OF:

PONDS AND LAKES

The OLOID can be used as a surface aerator to redevelop eutrophied ponds and smaller lakes (OLOID as surface aerator).

The OLOID generates waves and makes the pond surface undulate. This increases the effective water surface and therefore the oxygen transfer by diffusion is increased. In addition, oxygen is mechanically introduced at the OLOID body. The pulse-type movements of the OLOID evenly distribute the oxygen in the entire pond. Water from deeper layers and poor in oxygen is continually drawn to the surface and supplied with oxygen there. Sedimented mud is slowly upset by the OLOID-generated circulation and enriched with oxygen, while eutrophied nutrients are degraded. This prevents odoriferous emissions generated under anoxic conditions.

In the case of remote, difficult-to-access ponds, the OLOID-type 400 may be powered by solar energy, thanks to its low energy consumption.

POND APPLICATION EXAMPLE

1 OLOID-type 400 B is in operation as aerator. Before the OLOID-operation, the pond (surface: approx. 3'000 m2) was partly eutrophied and silt up. The growth of algae increased. Due to the increasing oxygen demand, the oxygen concentration decreased. Offensive odors discommoded the environment.

The OLOID effectuates a reduction of algae growth and odors. The generation of waves and ensuing undulation of the pond surface increase the effective water surface and therefore the O2 transfer by diffusion. Due to the OLOID, the oxygen is distributed evenly in the entire pond. The oxygen-saturation degree of the water increased to 60%.
