EMPLOYMENT OF THE OLOID TECHNOLOGY FOR THE TREATMENT OF:
SEWAGE & WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS
OLOID agitators (OLOID-type 400 and OLOID-type 600) are mainly used in de-nitrification basins (anoxic = without oxygen) of communal sewage treatment plants to circulate and suspend the biomass without oxygen input. The same function OLOID agitators fulfill in preceding bio-P-basins (anaerobic = without oxygen and nitrate) for biological phosphorus-elimination.
Thanks to the low number of revolutions of OLOID agitators,
activated-sludge flocks are not destroyed, which assures good
sedimentation properties of the biomass for secondary clarification
purposes. The suspension is not predominantly handled by high bottom
speeds but by the pulses effectuated by the OLOID, spreading in various
directions and continuing into all areas of the basin.
Given optimum positioning, OLOID agitators enable the suspension of the
biomass at energy densities between 2.5 and 3 W/m3.
